| 701st Island? |
| The Commonwealth of the Bahamas has long borne "700 Islands in the Sun" as one of its more popular references. It seemed appropriate to label Bahamanet, which is intended to be a virtual extension of the Bahamas, as the 701st island. This indicates our forward-looking attitude in that we are always looking to further the progress of our people. Plus it's catchy and once you've heard it, you definitely won't forget it. Beside which, there are already 5 variations on Bahamas Online and 2 (including us) on Bahamasnet. |

| Are you an ISP? |
| Bahamanet is not currently an ISP, nor do we have plans in the forseeable future that entail becoming an ISP, due to the current business conditions affecting doing internet service of that kind in the Bahamas.
To put it a little more clearly: The current costs of running internet traffic over Batelco's lines is prohibitive to the small enterprise. |

|
| What is Bahamanet? |
| Glad you asked! Bahamanet is a web-based cybercommunity consisting of Bahamians, Bahamian expatriates, individuals of Bahamian heritage, and naturalised citizens of the Bahamas. |
|
|
| What is the purpose of Bahamanet? |
| Bahamanet was founded with the intention of providing an online resource that the intended audience could rely on to congregate, network, and interact with each other through the use of its services.
Bahamanet intends to be a home away from home for all Bahamians abroad and a bridge to the internet for those at home. |

| What's with the colour scheme? |
| Well, in previous incarnations, Bahamanet has attempted to infuse Bahamian culture into the colour scheme of the site. At first, we went with the obvious (Aquamarine, Yellow, Black), which is a bit limiting.
We were attending a particularly odious Junkanoo (the Valley was robbed), and we realised that the answer was staring us in the face. The vibrant, unique, and aggressive patterns and colours used in Junkanoo only made sense to bring forth.
It might take some getting used to, but trust us! As we get more adept at capturing the patterns, look for some image resources to become available to you online homie-page bred'ren. |
